TRX Rent is a premier blockchain infrastructure provider and educational hub based in Silicon Valley. Founded in 2019 by a team of distributed systems engineers and blockchain researchers, we set out with a clear mission: make Tron Energy accessible, understandable, and cost-effective for every developer building on the Tron network.
We teach Web3 developers how to utilize Tron Energy to optimize smart contract deployments and reduce network fees. Learn how to master Tron Energy delegation. Optimize your DApp's smart contract costs using our proprietary VMI (Virtual Machine Interface) routing protocol, developed in-house at our San Jose innovation lab.
What started as a small team of five engineers in a co-working space on San Fernando Street has grown into a 85-person company serving over 2,400 enterprise clients worldwide. Our headquarters remain in the heart of downtown San Jose, where our development, support, and customer success teams operate from a modern 12,000 sq ft office space.
To democratize access to blockchain infrastructure education and provide enterprise-grade developer tools that reduce the cost and complexity of deploying smart contracts on the Tron network. We believe that every development team, regardless of size, should have access to the same level of infrastructure optimization that was previously only available to well-funded crypto-native firms. Through education, tooling, and dedicated support, we're leveling the playing field for Web3 development.
A future where smart contract deployment is as straightforward and cost-predictable as deploying a traditional web application. We envision the VMI protocol becoming the standard abstraction layer for Tron Energy management, enabling millions of developers to build decentralized applications without worrying about the underlying resource economics. Our long-term roadmap includes multi-chain support and open-source community editions of our core routing engine.
Key milestones in our growth from a five-person startup to a trusted infrastructure partner for thousands of developers.
Five distributed systems engineers from Stanford and UC Berkeley founded TRX Rent in a co-working space at 100 W San Fernando St, San Jose. Initial focus: research into Tron Virtual Machine energy consumption patterns and developer education through online workshops and written guides.
Launched our first structured course, "Tron Energy Fundamentals," which enrolled 340 developers in the first month. Simultaneously began developing the first prototype of what would become the VMI protocol, focusing on automated energy estimation for common contract patterns.
Released the alpha version of the VMI (Virtual Machine Interface) protocol to a closed group of 50 beta testers. Early results showed a 42% average reduction in deployment costs. Secured our first enterprise partnership with a San Francisco-based DApp studio.
Secured $8.5M in Series A funding, enabling us to expand the team to 35 engineers, move to a dedicated office in downtown San Jose, and launch the VMI protocol publicly with RESTful and gRPC API support. Reached 500 active enterprise clients by year-end.
Released VMI v2.0 with adaptive routing algorithms, reducing average latency from 45ms to 12ms. Introduced on-premise deployment options for enterprise clients with strict compliance requirements. Achieved SOC 2 Type II certification.
Launched the VMI Enterprise Certification Program in partnership with three major universities. Over 800 engineers completed their certification within the first year. Surpassed 2,000 enterprise clients and 3 billion operations routed through the VMI protocol.
Released VMI v3.0 featuring machine-learning-based routing predictions that pre-allocate energy before contract execution begins. Now serving 2,400+ enterprise clients with 85 team members across engineering, education, and customer success. Our San Jose headquarters continues to be the center of innovation for Tron Energy infrastructure.
We are engineers first. Every decision we make — from API design to support processes — is informed by deep technical understanding and a commitment to building systems that work reliably at scale.
We believe that empowering developers with knowledge is more valuable than any tool we could sell. Our educational content is developed by the same engineers who build the VMI protocol, ensuring accuracy and practical relevance.
Our enterprise clients are not just customers — they are partners in building better infrastructure. We invest significant engineering time in understanding each client's unique architecture and tailoring solutions accordingly.
Our headquarters at 100 W San Fernando St, San Jose, CA 95113 is open for partner visits, enterprise client onboarding sessions, and in-person workshops.
