Subscription & API Refund Policy

At TRX Rent Inc. ("TRX Rent," "we," "us," or "our"), we are committed to delivering high-quality educational content, developer tools, and VMI protocol infrastructure services. We understand that sometimes a service may not be the right fit for your team's needs. This Subscription & API Refund Policy outlines the terms under which refunds may be issued for our SaaS subscriptions, educational courses, and API access plans.

1. 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee

All new subscriptions to TRX Rent services — including educational courses, VMI Developer Access, VMI Professional Access, and other SaaS API plans — are covered by our 14-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with the service within the first 14 days of your initial subscription, you may request a full refund of the subscription fee, no questions asked.

To qualify for the 14-day money-back guarantee:

  • The refund request must be submitted within 14 calendar days from the date of your initial subscription purchase.
  • The refund must be requested via email to [email protected] or by calling our support team at +1 (408) 555-0144 during business hours.
  • You must provide your account email address and the subscription plan you wish to cancel.

The 14-day guarantee applies only to the first billing cycle of a new subscription. It does not apply to subscription renewals, upgrades, or downgrades.

2. Educational Course Refunds

2.1 Self-Paced Online Courses

For monthly subscriptions that include access to self-paced online courses (such as "Tron Energy Fundamentals" and "Smart Contract Cost Optimization"), the 14-day money-back guarantee described in Section 1 applies. Additionally:

  • If less than 20% of the course content has been accessed within the 14-day period, a full refund will be issued.
  • If more than 20% of the course content has been accessed, a partial refund may be issued at TRX Rent's discretion, prorated based on the percentage of content accessed.
  • Completed courses and courses where a certification has been issued are not eligible for refunds.

2.2 VMI Enterprise Certification Program

The VMI Enterprise Certification Program follows an extended refund schedule due to its structured, multi-week format:

  • Full refund if cancellation is requested before the start of Week 2 of the program.
  • 50% refund if cancellation is requested before the start of Week 4.
  • No refund is available after Week 4 has commenced.
  • If the program is cancelled by TRX Rent (e.g., due to insufficient enrollment), a full refund will be issued automatically.

3. SaaS API Plan Refunds

3.1 Monthly API Plans

Monthly API subscriptions (VMI Developer Access, VMI Professional Access) are billed on a recurring monthly basis. Refund terms:

  • The 14-day money-back guarantee applies to the first billing cycle only.
  • After the initial 14-day period, monthly subscriptions may be cancelled at any time, but no prorated refund will be issued for the remaining days in the current billing cycle.
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. You will continue to have access to the Services until then.

3.2 Annual API Plans

Annual API subscriptions are billed once per year at a discounted rate. Refund terms:

  • The 14-day money-back guarantee applies within the first 14 days of the annual subscription start date.
  • After 14 days but within the first 90 days, a prorated refund may be issued for the unused portion of the annual term, less a 15% early termination fee.
  • After 90 days, no refund is available for annual subscriptions. You may cancel to prevent renewal, but no refund will be issued for the current annual term.

4. Enterprise Custom Plans

Enterprise clients with custom Order Forms or Master Service Agreements (MSAs) are subject to the refund and termination provisions specified in their individual agreements. If no specific refund terms are defined in the applicable Order Form, this policy shall apply as a default. Enterprise clients should contact their assigned solutions architect or email [email protected] for refund inquiries.

5. Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be processed as follows:

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method used for the purchase.
  • Processing time is typically 5–10 business days, depending on your payment provider.
  • You will receive an email confirmation once the refund has been initiated.
  • Refunds for subscriptions paid via wire transfer may take up to 15 business days.

6. Service Credits (SLA-Related)

If you experience downtime that exceeds the uptime commitment specified in your Service Level Agreement (SLA), you may be eligible for service credits rather than monetary refunds. Service credits are applied to your next billing cycle and are calculated based on the duration and severity of the downtime. Please refer to your SLA addendum or contact our support team for details.

7. Exceptions and Non-Refundable Items

The following are not eligible for refunds under any circumstances:

  • Account usage fees incurred for API calls already processed through the VMI Protocol.
  • Overage charges for exceeding your plan's included API call quota.
  • Setup fees for on-premise VMI deployments where installation has commenced.
  • Third-party pass-through costs (e.g., network fees incurred by your smart contract operations on the Tron network).
  • Any services obtained through fraudulent means or in violation of our Terms of Service.

8. How to Request a Refund

We strive to respond to all refund requests within 2 business days. Complex refund cases involving enterprise agreements or partial course access may require additional review time of up to 5 business days.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Subscription & API Refund Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to registered users via email at least 30 days before taking effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the most recent revision was made. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
